Please begin developing your resume... you can find a template in Microsoft Word for resumes...
or just ask me for help... You could also just begin to type up all of your skills, places you've worked or volunteered... include addresses, phone #s, and the names of the places and people that you have worked/volunteered at.

Wipe Down Components

Please wipe down the computer components that are on the long brown table. They need to be shining.

...and also do try your best to call in when you're going to be late.

Installations

Please install Mavis Beacon and Rosetta Stone on Olivia. Ask for CD software.
Lets also give your Photoshop curriculum a run.

A couple of things

In March... you guys did EXCELLENT. I expect the same for April.

1> You have mailboxes in the Technology Office if you need it.

2> Tyrell > install FireFox on Olivia. Once you do that, plug in the web sites in Favorites/Bookmarks for both Internet Explorer and FireFox

3> Joseph > continue developing the PhotoShop curriculum

4> Help with Open Lab tonight.

It's Calendar Time

Please help fold the calendar mail outs for April 2005. This is priority job number 1.

Duties for Today

Good afternoon guys,

1) Please unpack paper boxes and put them in the office closet and in the hallway cabinet.
I will show you where they are and give you access to the cabinet.

2) Also dismantle a 2 computers down to its basic parts. I will show you which 2.

Checklist of Favorites & Desktop Items

Joseph + Tyrell
It's up to the both of you to create a checklist of icons that should be on the desktop
and a checklist of links that should be in the favorites folder.

Please make sure every single computer has the links and icons in both FireFox and
Internet Explorer environments.

Also, we need some flyers that need to be folded.

DeskTop Icons

Hello Interns,
Please search, find, and download FireFox browser onto computers that still do not have it.
You will also need to make 2 Firefox icons for the desktop, one in English and the other in Spanish. Please see for more details.

WordWeb

WordWeb is a dictionary program... We may be offering a class where this on-line dictionary will be needed.

You need to identify which computers do not have WordWeb and install it from the server.
Please see me for further instructions.

Delete Chat Programs

Search and delete AOL chat & MSN Messenger. There is no chatting allowed on lab computers.
We may need to do this on the regular. Please log the computers that you found chatting program on.

After that, continue developing the Photoshop curriculum. Thanx...

Duties for March 2nd

Did anyone create a Geocities link in all of the favorites folders in the lab?
All of the other links were done... but I still see 1 or 2 computers missing a
link here and there. Make sure your work is thorough.

TASKS:
1) This is the web-site for geocities... but make sure it only reads as GeoCities in the favorites folder. http://geocities.yahoo.com/home/

2) Make sure all the printers are stocked with paper.

3) Wipe down and disenfect all MAC computers, tables, their mouses and
keyboards YOU CANNOT USE any cleaning sprays on the
flat panel monitors; on everything else, you can. Please see me first
so I can give you a special towel to use on the flatscreens.

4) Set www.beehive.org as homepage for all pc and mac computers

Calendars, Beehive, and EITC

Please do everything for Angel first. When you're done...

1. Make copies of March calendar (front and back side) and leave copies at front desk and bring some to the other side. Dami, at the front desk, has the original

Check your e-mail to assist with Thursday's class. Tyrell, your e-mail may be the only that worked... please forward instructions to Joseph.

Favorite Links

Joseph + Tyrell:
Please make sure the GeoCities link is under the favorites folder.
Double check the mousercise links as well. I noticed that quite a few
computers were missing these links.

It is also important that the links look exactly alike on all computers so that there a level of consistency when people use the computers.

Monthly Mailing

Please fold, tape, and have calendar mail-outs stamped for March classes.
See me when folding and taping are done.

Friday, Feb. 25th Training at 1 pm

Friday, Feb. 25th at 1 pm there will be a training on an online resource called the Beehive in the computer lab. I encourage all of you to attend. Since you will be helping community users in the computer lab, it will be good to know about this resource.

Please let me know if you can come.
